Bathtime!

Chaseton is starting to love bathtime!
As long as the water is running on him or he's wrapped up in his towel, he is as happy as a clam. :)

Matt gave him his bath in the kitchen sink this morning. Finlee seen him getting a bath in the sink, so she decided she wanted to take a bath in the sink too! We've learned to pick our battles wisely these days, so she took her bath in the sink too! Good thing we have a BIG kitchen sink! :)

Day Trip to KC

On Saturday, Matt had the day off so we loaded up the van and headed to Kansas City for the day!
Here are the kiddos all ready for our trip!

Jaelyn

Finlee

Chaseton

We stopped for donuts, one of the girls' favorite thing for breakfast, on our way out of town.

Jaelyn, enjoying her donut. She eats the chocolate frosting first, then the roll.

Our first stop was the Kansas City Zoo!

We walked a lot but they loved seeing all of the different animals.

Here is Jaelyn during one of our many breaks throughout the zoo.

She is getting so big and I love her personality.

This is our solution to both girls being tired of walking at the same time. :)

Such a good daddy!

Chaseton enjoying a break under the shade of a tree.

He makes this face a lot. We call it his furrowed brow look.

After the zoo we stopped for lunch at a western bar and grill before heading home.

Jaelyn as a kitty.

My cow, Finlee.

We had such a great day as a family and we can't wait until our next adventure!

Snuggie

If you know Finlee, you know she loves her "snuggies". When I was pregnant with Finlee, my friend that hosted my baby shower made Finlee a diaper cake and along with her diaper cake, she gave Finlee her first Pooh bear "snuggie".

Finlee has loved this snuggie ever since she was a baby and now has a total of three different snuggies.
She did have four, but we lost her Minnie Mouse snuggie at Target. One night, she was begging Matt for her Minnie snuggie and we realized we had lost it. Matt proceeded to give her a stuffed Minnie mouse doll and she went hysterical because only her Minnie snuggie would do.

I wanted to write about Finlee's love for her snuggies because I don't want to forget how sweet she looks cuddling onto her snuggie and sucking her thumb. Her snuggie can fix anything from an ouchie to a broken heart and when she's a teenager and starts thinking having a "lovey" is silly, I can look back and remember how cute and innocent she looked.

Finlee's snuggie is never too far from reach and she can't sleep without it.

She also doesn't like to share them. If anyone is messing with her snuggies, they better watch out!

Every morning when she sits in her chair for breakfast, Snuggie is stuffed right beside her!

Snuggie goes on every car trip with us too!

Here is Finlee with all three of her snuggies:

The first snuggie is one that was actually Jaelyn's when she was a baby, the second is her Pooh bear snuggie from my baby shower, and the third is a homemade snuggie that Finlee's grandma and I made for her.

We have several other colored snuggies in our house but Finlee only likes the pink ones!

I was playing with her earlier and I think I realized just how fast she is growing up. She'll soon be trading in her snuggies for big girl toys but it will always be too soon in my book.

I love you, sweet girl.

One Month!

Chaseton, you are one month old today!
August 7th, 2011

We weighed you on the Wii and you weigh almost 9lbs already!

Here's what you're up to at one month of age:
  • You wear size newborn clothes and diapers. (Although you are about to outgrow the diapers!)
  • You love to cuddle! You are happiest when you are snuggled up with mommy or daddy.
  • You are starting to hold your head up more on your own.
  • You sleep and nurse/eat very well. I can feed you at 11pm and you will sleep until 6am, most nights.
  • You are starting to recognize familiar voices and will stop, stare, and just listen to whoever is talking.
  • When I tickle your ears, you grin really big. Its so sweet to see!
  • You love to watch TV with Daddy. When it's on, you love to look at it.
  • You are starting to cuddle with your blankets and its the sweetest thing about you!
  • You have started grabbing on to different things that are placed in front of you.
  • You will occasionally "talk" back to me when I talk to you. I'm the only one to hear you do this so far!
  • I can't believe how fast you are growing! I feel like I can see you getting bigger right before my eyes.
  • I have you so spoiled. When you're awake, you just love to be held. Its sometimes hard for me to get things done because you just want to be held and talked to.
  • Even in the dead heat of summer, you love to be swaddled. Sometimes that's the only way I can get you to sleep.
  • Every morning, after your first feeding of the day, I put you in your swing and you love it. You just lay there, wide awake, watching and listening to the music.
  • You haven't said it yet, but I'm certain that your sisters drive you crazy! :)
Cuddling with your blankie.

Sleeping so good.

Watching TV with Daddy.

One month old!

Every month when I take your picture, I will put you beside your bear to see how much you've grown!

I can't believe you are already a month old! I'm waiting for you to stop growing and stay little forever. Daddy is ready for you to grow and learn and play football. :) I don't even remember what life was like without you and I love how you fit perfectly into our family. I'm really grateful for the blessing that you are!

My Kids

There's nothing better than being a stay-at-home mom.

I get to spend every day just hanging out with my kids.
We can do whatever we want, whenever we want.

I get to spend quality time with each of them every single day.

I get to watch them grow, learn, and play.

I get to see them develop new personalities and conquer different milestones.

I get to see them form bonds and watch when they love each other the most.
And even when they don't. :)

I get to cuddle and hold them whenever I want to.

I love being a stay-at-home mom because I love spending time with my kids.

And even on the hardest of days, I love being a mom. I wouldn't trade these three for the world. I love my "job" and I know I was meant to be a mom! Today, I'm very thankful for three of my favorite blessings!
