12 Weeks

Today I am 12 weeks pregnant! I thought I would try to do a post every week to keep everyone updated on my progress...

I'm 12 weeks!
{And for the record, this picture makes me look bigger than I am. :)}

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 12 Weeks
Size of baby: Baby Pollock is the size of a lime!
Total Weight Gain/Loss: I haven't kept track. :)
Maternity Clothes: All regular clothes, although they are getting tight!
Gender: Can't wait to find out!
Movement: Nothing, really. I did feel the baby when the doctor was checking for a heartbeat, though.
Sleep: I don't sleep well and haven't been since I found out I was preggo.
What I miss: Nothing really - maybe sleeping on my stomach?
Cravings: Pizza, pizza, and more pizza.
Symptoms: Just tired, all the time.
Best Moment this week: Hearing the heartbeat!

{Normally, Matt takes my pictures but he was at work when I decided to take one!}

And a couple pictures of my sweet darlings:

Christmas Announcement

A few days ago, I showed you all our Christmas card but left another part of our Christmas card out of it. Here is part two:
{Guess what? We're going to be BIG sisters! Pollock-made delivery coming Summer 2011. Mommy's expecting and we're excited and we hope you are too! Love, Jae & Fin}

That's right, Baby Pollock number three is on the way! We are excited!

I had my first appointment today and everything seemed to go well. I am 11 weeks along and due July 13, 2011-the day of my Grandpa and cousin Candi's birthday. We heard the heartbeat and it was at 150 which is normal and good for a first appointment.

As she went over my blood work, I learned that my antibodies in my blood are still there. (I had this same issue with Finlee.) They will monitor my titer count and antibodies through a specialist and blood work, which means lots of ultrasounds! So not only will I see my phsycian regularly, but I will also see my specialist reguarly too. If you could just pray that my titer count stays low so that the baby won't be harmed, we would appreciate it.

Other than that, I visit my doctor in 2 weeks and my specialist first thing in February!

Merry Christmas!

Instead of mailing our Christmas cards this year, I decided to save some postage and hand most of them out along with the few gifts that we are giving. I thought I would share for those of you that we won't see until just after Christmas.

Wishing you a warm and joyful Christmas season!

Family Update

I've been away from the blogging world for quite some time. With the holidays and school and family, we have been busy. I'm happy to say that things are finally slowing down and I'm getting back to the hobbies I love, which includes blogging!

In November, I ended up getting very sick. I was miserable for about a week so Matt took me to the emergency room where I found out that I had a blood infection, the beginnings of pneumonia, and was very dehydrated. After a series of tests and x-rays and fluids and medicine, I was thankfully sent home and with some much needed rest, I've finally been able to recover fully and I am so thankful for all of the help from both my mom and my mama Pollock and especially my amazing husband.

For Thanksgiving, we stayed home as a little family of four. We made a small dinner and watched Christmas movies all day long. We had a great time and are so thankful for the little family that we have been blessed with.

As of now, Matt and I are both finished with school for the semester, we're spending time with our precious darlings-who happen to be growing too fast, and are really just enjoying all of the extra free time that we have together.

We can't wait to spend time with our families over the holiday season and are ready to celebrate the reason for the season!

We hope you all have a Merry Christmas...I will write again soon!

Charlotte's Web

For Christmas in 2006, my mom bought us the book, Charlotte's Web, so we could have it for Jaelyn, who I was pregnant with at the time. Charlotte's Web has always been one of my favorite stories and it had just became popular again because of the remake of the movie.
Not long after Christmas, I was having a conversation with Loren, Matt's dad. We were talking about how Matt loves to read and he mentioned that Matt's birthmom use to read to Matt while she was pregnant with him. I decided that I wanted to do the same thing as well except I wanted Matt to be involved. Every night before we'd go to sleep, Matt would read a chapter of Charlotte's Web to my ever-growing stomach.

While I was pregnant (maybe even before we recieved the book), the movie came out in theatres and I remember being so excited because Matt was taking me to see it. He took me on a weeknight (school night) and we ended up being the only people in that theatre to watch the movie. Its such a special memory for me!

We finished the book before Jaelyn was born. On April 3rd, 2007, Charlotte's Web released on DVD. April 3rd, 2007 also happens to be the day that Jaelyn was born. I knew the movie was coming out that day and while laying in the hospital bed, I remember having Matt call his mom to have her pick up the DVD for us.

When I found out I was pregnant with Finlee, I pulled the book off the shelf, and we read the story to her too. And on the inside of the cover, I have the dates marked of when I was pregnant and the names of my girls right beside the corrsponding dates.

Recently, Jaelyn found the book on the shelf and Matt has started reading it to her again. We've also been enjoying our DVD quite frequently too.

And this is why I love Charlotte's Web!

Family Pictures

Awhile back, we had family pictures taken by a good friend of mine. I got them back today and they turned out so great! I am so thankful for them! Every other family picture that we've taken, of the four of us, I've taken myself. It was so great to have them taken for us! Thank you, Haley!

So blessed to have my little family!

Sneek-Peek: The Swafford's

There is a family that I photograph regularly just as a hobby and they happen to be really good friends of ours too. Our kids are the same age and we have a lot in common. Most of you have probably seen them featured on my blog before. One evening this week, I had the opportunity to photograph them again and I thought I would share a sneek-peek for them. I think they turned out well. :) Enjoy!

Our Weekend

On Thursday evening, Allison and Logan showed up at our door to surprise us. They came to stay with us for the weekend and I was so excited to see them. We had a great weekend together and the girls loved seeing them too! I was able to catch a few good pictures to share.

After they got here (and I got over the shock that they were here), we roasted smores in the fireplace and watched the Little Rascals.

On Friday, we lounged around and waited for Matt to get off work.

Jaelyn and Allison

We took a trip to the pumpkin patch and after Matt got off work, we ate supper and immediately started using our imaginations to carve pumpkins while the girls painted pumpkins.

Glowing pumpkins...followed by an ice cream trip and a game of Scrabble. :)

On Saturday, we ate lunch together, played football, made crafts, and took a trip to Rees Fruit Farm.

On our way!

Finlee checking out the pumpkins.

The fruit of choice at Rees Fruit Farm is the apple and my girl loves apples.

More pumpkins!

At the patch.

After we got home, we made dinner together-chicken enchiladas-and played yet another game of Scrabble.

On Sunday afternoon, we went to Skyline park-where you can see Topeka's whole skyline, played tennis, ate pizza, and played even more Scrabble before they had to head for home.

We were so glad that they were able to come spend time with us.
It was definitely something that I needed and I absolutely enjoyed. I'm so grateful for good friends. :)

After they left, we met up with Matt's parents at a pumpkin patch near their home and went out for pizza afterwards..
They always love spending time with the girls and so do we, so that's what we did.

As we were driving home from the pumpkin patch, I told Matt that the weekend had been one of the best weekends I have had and that I am blessed beyond words. And it's true.
