Swimming with Friends

Jaelyn had her first session of 'Swimming with Friends' today! This is her second summer to take swimming 'lessons' and what can I say? My girl is a FISH! She has improved so much since last year, in not only her swimming skills, but also her personality. She use to be so timid and today, she was ready to go; dunking her head under water, blowing bubbles like a pro, floating on her back, and doing her best to swim.

Jaelyn and Ms. Nikki
(Nikki is my good friend and Brogan's mom.
Brogan is one of Jaelyn's best friends!)

She was very proud of herself!

We still have several days left of 'Swimming with Friends' and I can't wait to see what all Jaelyn has learned by the time class is over!

Crafting for Chaseton: Bulletin Board

This week I am finishing up last minute projects for Chaseton and his nursery. I had an empty wall to fill and found this bulletin board at Target in the clearance section. I had Matt spray paint the edges dark brown.

I then covered it with fabric that I had left over from a quilt that my grandma and I made for him.
I topped it off with navy ribbon and some cute buttons!

And Matt hung it on his wall for me today!

I'm going to add pictures (like his sonogram pictures below), cards, his shower invitations and such to his board.

His nursery is coming together very well. I only have a few more little projects to finish up and it will be complete!

Crafting for Chaseton: Changing Table to Shelf

When I seen this post from one of my favorite blogs, http://www.infarrantlycreative.net/, I got really excited. I sometimes have a hard time re-purposing my own items and when I seen her idea, I knew it was meant to be because I had the exact same changing table in my own basement, destined for the garbage can.

Here is my changing table before we transformed it into a shelf.

I was planning on sewing a diaper stacker for Chaseton's room but when I came across this, I knew I had to make it for him. I got Matt onboard with the idea and this is how it turned out.

After. I love it!

Filled with diapers and wipes! I am going to add a little basket for other
necessities that we may need close by!

We hung it right by his changing table.

I'm so happy with how it turned out! Matt did a great job, as always! :)
I'm especially glad we could get use out of something that we were bound to throw away!

Outdoor Furniture

One weekend, not too long ago, Matt and I decided to go hit up some garage sales. We were trying to find a few things that we wanted for a good price, like the girls' Lego table, when we came across these beauties.

Chairs and an end table for our backyard.

The couple that had them had tried to re-do them at one point but didn't make them weather resistant.
We decided to buy them and fix them up.
This is what they looked like before:

And this is what they look like now:

I decided on Cardinal Red for the color because I wanted something bold. At first, I wasn't sure about it but the more I look at them, the more I love the color! And to be honest, Matt did all of the work and did a great job! :)

We are in the process of renovating our backyard to make it a place that we love to be and these add so much color! I love how unique and big they are. They are heavy and sturdy and are quite possibly my favorite part of my backyard so far. We have a few more projects up our sleeves like a storage bench that we are re-doing and building a pergola! More to come!

Photo Booth Friday: My Tulip Girls

A few shots of my girls at the Tulip Garden on a beautiful day! The tulips are mostly gone already and it makes me so sad to drive by and see a little less color. Atleast I have these pictures to remind me of their beauty.

What's better than two sweet girls surrounded by a bunch of colorful tulips?

Total Weight Gain/Loss: I really have no idea but I am starting to grow more and more!

Maternity Clothes: Maternity jeans and pants but I just love wearing T-shirts.

Gender: Boy! Chaseton Matthew. :)

Movement: He has been moving more and more lately! I can finally see my stomach turning!

Sleep: I sleep really well still!

What I miss: Just feeling normal. I don't really miss anything!

Best Moment this Week: Just enjoying being preggo! This is quite possibly my last pregnancy so I am trying to take it all in and cherish every moment. I love laying around and feeling him move and I can't wait to meet him. I've also really enjoyed making the baby hats to donate in his name to our hospital's baby nursery when he is born. I now have 14 hats made!

9 more weeks to go!

Mulvane Art Lab

One of the things the girls and I love to do on a cool, windy day is head to the Washburn University campus to go to the Mulvane Art Museum Art Lab. The people there love to teach the girls art and the girls love expressing their creativity. Best of all, its free!

Cardboard Chalk Wall

Finlee

This is a large "glass" wall that you can draw on with dry-erase markers!
One of their favorite things at the Art Lab!

Picking her color!

Jaelyn drawing her self-portrait through the mirror.

Drawing together.

Light Table, another favorite.

Painting.

Sandbox.

Doll House Scavenger Hunt.

Weaving.

I love the variety of different stations featured at the Art Lab. And I especially love how colorful the Art Lab is. Its a great place for the girls to learn and be creative!
