Summer Traditions

One of the reasons I love summer is because of all the extra family time we get. The lake, BBQs, and warm weather seem to bring us together with our family more during summer than any other season. We spend a lot of time at Matt's parents house. We have concerts, dance on the driveway, have bean bag tournaments, BBQ and make s'mores, play kickball, swim at the lake, and so much more!

Buddies: Papa and Finlee

The girls spent a few days at their Papa and Grandma's (Matt's Mom and Dad) house this past week. We went to pick them up yesterday and Papa and Finlee seemed to be the best of buds. Finlee has always loved her Papa and they have always been good friends but they explained to me that they were inseperable this time that they stayed.

Finlee loves to go on rides in Papa's truck. She loves to help her Papa work in the yard, work on the boat, and eat popsicles and ice cream with him. And of course she likes to dance with him! I love watching them spend time together. He calls her "Finner-bug". He loves her so much and I know she loves him too! Its a great feeling to watch someone love your kids as much as you do and I know "Finner-bug" and Papa will be the best of friends for a long time!

There's nothing better than ice cream on a hot summer day before heading to the lake! Ice cream is another favorite for our girls!

Summertime

We've finally had some Summer weather around here lately! Playing in the pool and water is a lifesaver when it comes to our summer days! We played in the pool at Matt's parents house last weekend and it was the perfect way to cool down.

Dress-Up

Jaelyn and Finlee love to play dress-up! They entertain us with their creativity, with help from daddy, and their attitudes! There is never a dull moment in our home!

Celebrating Chaseton

Many people have offered to throw me a shower or have a party for Chaseton. I am so overwhelmed and thankful for the love and support that has been shown for our son already! For Chaseton, I really wanted to keep it simple and celebrate his life. Celebrate the blessing that he is from God. When the girls were both born, we were so blessed by friends and family and nothing has changed with Chaseton.

My family decided to throw me a shower in my hometown with family and close friends. It was simple and to the point and I loved it.

My friend Erica also put together a little get-together to celebrate my new little man at a fun cupcake bakery here in Topeka. We invited my closest Topeka friends and shared a cupcake for Chaseton!

It was so great to spend time with friends and fellow moms!

These are my favorite cupcakes that Erica had personalized with each letter of Chaseton's name!

Chaseton's arrival is quickly approaching and we can't wait to meet him!
