Family Vacation: Day 3

On Monday, we ate breakfast at Shoney's. My grandparents always use to take us to Shoney's for breakfast when they took us on trips. We also went to see Amazing Pets. It was a show about dogs, kitties, birds, and farm animals. The people had trained their pets to do all kinds of tricks. The girls really loved the show!

After a quick lunch, we started our trip home!

We stopped off in Springfield, Mo. at a Wild Animal Safari. You drove around the zoo and the animals came right up to your car so you could feed them!

The girls were able to sit in the front seat and they loved that.

This little deer was so cute. He was timid so he wouldn't come up to the car so Matt could feed it but he would nod his head where he wanted Matt to throw the feed. Matt would tell him to "come here, come here" and he just kept nodding his head for Matt to throw it.

We made it home that evening. We had such a good trip and we can't wait to go back!

Family Vacation: Day 2

Sunday morning we woke up bright and early and headed to Krispy Kreme Donuts!

We don't have one near our home so it was a special treat.

After breakfast, we headed to Silver Dollar City!

Chaseton was such a good baby for our trip! He was even sick part of the time and still did great!

Silver Dollar City was probably my favorite part of our whole trip! I love the atmosphere there and the weather was perfect.

Next, we headed back to the Branson Landing for a quick bite to eat and to walk around.

Jaelyn decided to get her ears pierced while we were there. It was quite the experience. At first she was all ready to go then she started to chicken out. They already opened everything so we made her go through with it because we weren't paying that much money to take home everything. She fought and we had to hold her down but she only cried for a second and loved having her ears pierced afterwards.

He's been smiling for a few weeks now but I just now caught it on camera!

I love going to Branson. That is our go-to spot because it's close, fun, and relaxing.

Family Vacation: Day 1

Over Labor Day weekend, we headed to Branson, Missouri for a long weekend getaway. We had a lot of fun spending time as a family. We played, shopped, and relaxed.

We left early Saturday morning and our first stop was the Butterfly Palace and Rainforest Adventure!
Here they had many rainforest animals, a bungee cord jungle, a mirror maze, a coconut tree to climb, and a butterfly exhibit.

They had a window that you could look through to see all of the butterflies that were being raised. While we were there, they were letting the ones go that had came out of their cocoon.

 

Fun Fact: Butterflies don't have noses. :)

After lunch at a good Seafood restaurtant and checking in at our hotel, we headed to the Branson Landing, Branson's big mall.

Our main purpose for going to the mall was to take the girls to Build-a-Bear. Since pregnant with Jaelyn, I have always wanted to take her here!

Jaelyn named her kitty Tinkerbell because she picked out a Tinkerbell fairy outfit for it. Finlee named her puppy Bear. :)

After the mall, we headed back to the hotel to swim. Our hotel had an indoor/outdoor waterpark with it. The girls had a blast swimming and playing in the water.

We headed back to our room to rest before supper. Then we headed to a pizza buffet, arcade, and ice cream shop before heading to bed for our busy day the next day!
